SAN ANTONIO — As Early Voting in the 2025 San Antonio Mayoral Runoff Election continues this week, the Pablos for Mayor campaign announced a broad-based coalition of Democratic, Republican and independent San Antonio leaders and organizations who are rallying behind Rolando Pablos to serve as the next Mayor of San Antonio.
“I have put together a broad-based coalition—a city wide, broad-based coalition, bipartisan. Democrats, Republicans, independents, are all part of this movement that we have started, and we will bring that to the table. And yes, I will work with our federal and state leaders, I will work with our county leaders, and I’ll make sure that I will work with each council person in a supporting role. The mayor is the 11th position on council. It’s just one vote, and the mayor needs to bring the power of the mayor’s office to each council person in a supporting role so that we can actually get things done.”
–Rolando Pablos, Texas Public Radio, May 26, 2025

On Friday, Rolando Pablos announced the endorsement of former State Senator Leticia Van de Putte, who made clear that “experience matters more than party labels.”

“Rolando is a true San Antonian—rooted in this city and committed to it. He has spent his life supporting our local community, and I know he’ll bring that same dedication to the Mayor’s office. San Antonio deserves this kind of leader.”
–The Hon. Leticia Van de Putte
Former State Senator (D-San Antonio)
In addition to Senator Van de Putte, Rolando Pablos has earned the endorsement of former State Representative and former Bexar County Democratic Party Chair Leo Pacheco (D-HD-118):

“For San Antonio’s future, I wholeheartedly support Rolando Pablos for Mayor. His vision for our city and dedication to community makes him the right choice to lead our city.”
-The Hon. Leo Pacheco
Former State Representative and Bexar County Democratic Party Chair
Likewise, former Texas State Representative (D-HD-125) and Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector Sylvia Romo emphasized Rolando’s long record of economic development and community service:

“Economic development is a powerful tool in the fight against generational poverty in San Antonio.
“As Secretary of State, Rolando’s priority was to bring jobs to Texas. He will help address that generational poverty that has existed too long by bringing good jobs to San Antonio and fostering economic opportunities for our community.
“With proven leadership and a commitment to making a difference, Rolando is the right choice for mayor.”
-The Hon. Sylvia Romo
Former State Representative and Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector
Former Texas Secretary of State and San Antonio businesswoman Hope Andrade announced her endorsement of Rolando Pablos to serve as the City’s next Mayor:

“I am proud to endorse Rolando Pablos for Mayor of San Antonio. He is a top tier talent with experience, vision and determination to lead our city into its next chapter. He is committed to building a stronger, more vibrant San Antonio and with him at the helm, our future will be in good hands.”
-Esperanza “Hope” Andrade
Small Businesswoman and Former Texas Secretary of State
Richard Gonzalez, a prolific San Antonio community leader who has served on the Alamo Community Colleges Board of Trustees and as a Democratic delegate for former President Biden and Hillary Clinton, made clear that Rolando’s vision for poverty eradication and collaboration will help bring greater prosperity to San Antonio neighborhoods and help uplift the veteran community:

“Rolando is the only candidate in this race who truly has the skills and vision to tackle the generational poverty that has impacted San Antonio for decades, disproportionately impacting neighborhoods in the Westside and Eastside. As Military City, U.S.A., San Antonio needs a leader who can break down barriers among veteran groups to ensure we are working together on a unified mission to support those who have honorably served our nation, particularly the homeless veteran population, who deserve dignity, compassion and respect.
“Rolando brings a spirit of collaboration that goes beyond partisan labels and political silos in order to achieve real results for the people and families of our city. I wholeheartedly endorse Rolando Pablos to serve as San Antonio’s next mayor, and look forward to a new chapter of prosperity for the Alamo City.”
-Richard Gonzalez
National Vice Commander, American GI Forum
Former National Democratic Delegate (2016-2024)
Former Alamo Community Colleges Trustee (1988-2000)
Former President of Palo Alto College and former Chair of the San Antonio Housing Authority Dr. Cha Guzman also made clear that Rolando has the right character to serve as Mayor of San Antonio:

“I have known Rolando Pablos for almost 2 decades and I’ve always admired his abilities to lead and work with others collaboratively. He will bring integrity and excellence to the office of the Mayor of San Antonio.”
-Dr. Ana M. “Cha“ Guzman
Educator and Former President, Palo Alto College
Additionally, within the last week, Rolando Pablos has earned the endorsement of the San Antonio Express-News editorial board, which wrote on Friday:
“San Antonio is at a pivotal moment in terms of growth and workforce development, and Pablos’ background in economic development and connections at the state and federal levels could be a difference maker.”

Longtime San Antonio reporter, editor, and media commentator Bob Rivard also encouraged San Antonio voters to reach across partisan lines and vote for Rolando Pablos in the Mayoral Runoff Election, writing in his big city, small town blog this week:
“Our next mayor will be the first in contemporary times to serve a four-year term. It’s important that we get this right. I’m casting my early vote this week for Rolando Pablos. I respect your right to disagree, but I hope you don’t simply vote along party lines on what has proven to be San Antonio’s most partisan mayoral election.”

This recent surge in support for Rolando’s candidacy follows a strong endorsement from the San Antonio Police Officers Association (SAPOA), which made clear that Rolando Pablos is the best candidate for voters who want strong law enforcement and a safer community:

“His track record of effective leadership, shared commitment to public safety, and open collaboration reflects our shared priorities to ensure San Antonio is led with real results — and not just promises.”
Rolando Pablos has also received the endorsement of the Texas REALTORS® Political Action Committee (TREPAC):
