SAN ANTONIO — Today, San Antonio Mayoral candidate Rolando Pablos announced a key policy proposal aimed at transforming how the City addresses homelessness: the establishment of a dedicated Homelessness Czar to lead and coordinate all homelessness-related efforts across the city. Rolando Pablos issued the following statement on the new policy proposal he intends to implement as Mayor of San Antonio:
“For too long, our approach to homelessness has been fragmented—spread across multiple departments, agencies, and nonprofits. That will change under my leadership. We will put one accountable leader in charge of aligning all of our strategies, resources, and partnerships under a single, focused mission: reducing homelessness in our city.”
Under Pablos’ plan, the Homelessness Czar would be empowered to coordinate housing initiatives, outreach programs, public health interventions, and community partnerships. This role is designed to cut through bureaucratic red tape, ensure transparency in outcomes, and drive real, measurable progress.
“Residents deserve to see action,” Pablos continued. “People experiencing homelessness deserve real solutions. This is about leadership, accountability, and results.”
The proposal marks a central pillar of Pablos’ campaign platform to restore order, compassion, and effectiveness to San Antonio City government.
