SAN ANTONIO — Today, former Texas Secretary of State and 2025 San Antonio mayoral candidate Rolando Pablos announced his new Veteran Action Plan to support San Antonio’s veterans, focusing on providing real, tangible support that improves the lives of veterans and their spouses and provides the resources they need to transition and thrive in the workforce and civilian life.
In releasing his action plan, Rolando issued the following statement:
“Military City, U.S.A. must always live up to its name, and as Mayor, I am committed to implementing my Veteran Action Plan to strengthen, expand, and improve support programs for veterans and their spouses, ensuring they receive efficient and effective support.
“Investing in veterans and military spouses not only strengthens veteran families but also boosts our local economy, making San Antonio a city that truly supports those who serve, both in uniform and in civilian life.”
Rolando’s Veteran Action Plan is built on the three core principles of:
(1) Enhancing employment, entrepreneurship and workforce development to ensuring veterans can translate their skills, access job opportunities, receive career support, and start their own businesses;
(2) Strengthening housing and healthcare access, including through assistance for homeless veterans and improved access to VA and mental health services; and
(3) Improving coordination and efficiency of city, state, and federal programs so that veterans don’t have to fight bureaucracy to get the help they need.
