San Antonio
- Public Safety: Ensuring that our families are safe from crime and protected if their homes catch fire.
- Better-Paying Jobs: Attracting jobs that will keep our kids and grandkids living and working in San Antonio.
- Small Business: Making sure the city helps rather than hurts the small businesses that drive our economy.
- Government Accountability: With $18 billion in city debt, cutting waste and holding city government accountable for how taxpayer dollars are spent.
- Basic City Services: Ensuring reliable and affordable power and water, drivable streets, walkable neighborhoods, and well-planned drainage and garbage.
Public Safety
Key Initiatives:
- Make police and fire funding a priority in the city budgeting process.
- Increase the number of police and firefighters for our streets, homes, and businesses.
- Increase police patrols and community-based policing.
There is nothing more important than the safety of our families. Police officers and firefighters must have the resources, training, and support they need to do their jobs effectively.
With our Family-First approach, the goal is to ensure that our neighborhoods are safe and that help arrives quickly when emergencies happen.
Fiscal Accountability
As mayor, Rolando Pablos will make all city expenditures transparent so taxpayers can see exactly how their tax dollars are being spent. This will help identify and eliminate wasteful spending, ensuring funds go to essential services.
He will also require regular reviews of all city boards and commissions to assess their necessity. If they no longer serve a valuable purpose, they will be restructured or eliminated to prevent waste.
Additionally, Rolando Pablos will explore how the City can collaborate with Bexar County to consolidate services, improving public access and creating greater efficiencies.
Through these measures, Rolando Pablos will build a more efficient, accountable, and fiscally responsible city government that maximizes taxpayer dollars.
Infrastructure
As mayor, Rolando Pablos will ensure that taxpayers get their money’s worth through basis city services like streets, drainage, garbage and traffic reduction, and through road maintenance, flood control, and reliable utilities. Addressing growing traffic congestion will be a key focus to improve daily commutes.
Through his public utility experience, Rolando understands how energy providers work. He will work with CPS Energy to provide reliable and affordable power and partner with SAWS to repair and replace aging pipes, preventing the loss of billions of gallons of water each year.
With a focus on efficiency and smart investments, Rolando Pablos will build infrastructure that supports a thriving, sustainable city.
Economic DEVELOPMENT
As the former Texas Secretary of State, Rolando Pablos traveled the world to attract major businesses to Texas. As mayor, he will do the same for San Antonio, leveraging his network across Texas, the U.S., and internationally to bring companies that offer high-paying jobs to the city.
As a business owner, he will set the standard for how a city can support small businesses instead of making it more difficult for them to operate — by providing grants and streamlining permitting processes, cutting unnecessary bureaucracy, and incentivizing local investment.
By empowering entrepreneurs and promoting workforce development programs, Rolando Pablos will create more opportunities, financial stability, and long-term economic growth for all San Antonians.
