I am an immigrant whose parents brought me and my siblings here to live the American Dream when I was a small child. I was born in Sonora, Mexico, just 200 miles south of the U.S. border, and in 1976, my parents made a bold decision to bring our family to the United States legally, seeking a better life.
We are a country of laws, and I will follow the lead of the police chief and the sheriff in upholding those laws. When it comes to dangerous criminals who threaten our families, I will have a zero-tolerance policy.
I have worked as an immigration attorney so I understand immigration laws. And we have a responsibility to deport individuals who represent a danger to our families. I oppose sanctuary city policies that often shield dangerous criminals who are here illegally and should be deported.
