Leadership
- Rolando has experience running three large government organizations – more than anyone else in the race. Rolando will use this experience to help greater efficiencies and accountability in city government.
- Rolando has an extensive network of connections with state leadership. This is critical experience given the major funding decisions made in Austin that fund important San Antonio projects.
- Through his business experience, Rolando has the skills necessary to bring people together to make important decisions and move projects forward.
Economic Development
- In his role as the Texas Secretary of State, Rolando promoted Texas nationally and internationally. He is now ready to promote San Antonio.
- Rolando brings an extensive network of economic development contacts across Texas, the U.S., and beyond. He will leverage this network to strengthen our city’s economic position for all of San Antonio.
- As a business owner, Rolando understands the barriers faced by small businesses – especially those imposed by local government. He will work to eliminate these barriers.
Critical Skills
- Rolando served as a commissioner with the Public Utility Commission, which oversees energy in the State
- Through his PUC experience, Rolando understands how energy companies work. This is important in understanding how to keep energy to San Antonio homes affordable and reliable.
- Through his PUC, Rolando understands how energy companies operate. This is important given that CPS Energy provides a critical source of revenue for the City of San Antonio – upwards of a million dollars a day.
- As an immigration attorney, Rolando understands the immigration laws and the importance of enforcing them.
